Three Detroit Men Charged with Dearborn Break-in

The three men who were caught trying to break into a Dearborn home last week were each arraigned Wednesday with one count of first degree home invasion.

See our earlier story HERE.

The three Detroit men, Lamont Williams, 24; Tyrone Beasley, 27 and David Michael McGee, 26 have a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 16, 2011 at the 19th District Court in Dearborn.

First degree home invasion is a felony that is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of not more than $5,000.

Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said he “would like to thank the Republic Waste employee whose keen observation and immediate call to the police led to the arrest of the suspects.”

As stated in prior posts, we all need to be aware of what is taking place in our neighborhoods and report suspicious persons and situations, let alone securing valuables. The holiday season is an opportune time for opportunist thieves to take visible valuables from offices, homes and vehicles such as wallets, purses, cell phones, GPS devices, etc. Hide the bracket for your GPS devices and radar detectors, a thief will know by seeing them that your device is in your vehicle and will smash out your window to get to valuables inside. Put Christmas packages in your trunk, not visible to see. Dearborn PD and other agencies put out such info. from time to time but you don’t pay attention until you are actually a victim. If it doesn’t look right or feel right, call the polcie to check it out.

Another note, please sign up for Nixle alert messages to advise you of incidents Dearborn PD wants you to know, it is free and is on the City and Police websites. Also visit Crimemapping.com and look at crime in your neighborhood. DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ALL OF THE REPORTED CRIME IN THE AREA? by going to crimemapping .com

you will learn that in the area roughly between Michigan/Ford Rd. to Gulley/Outer Drive that there have been over two dozen home break ins and over two dozen larceny from vehicles between July 1st to December 7th? Wake up people – we need to watch out for each other. Dearborn PD does an excellent and have been getting the information out there, but they cannot be everywhere.

And, as I have posted before in a related story…when it comes to catching a criminal…leave it to the garbage man to make it happen. Lets raise the garbage tax for law enforcement.
