20 Cats Found in Dearborn Home

From the dog and cat files, we bring you yet another home in Dearborn found filled with animals.  This time the home was an abadonded one and with 20 cats inside, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The good news is that at least the cats were found and that we have a fantastic group of people at the Dearborn Animal Shelter who will work to find the animals a safe, new home.

According to the neighbors there were people renting this home. They apparently moved into the house in either June or July – how can you do that much damage in a couple of months? They also said they didn’t think that there was any power to the house. I don’t understand why these owners don’t inspect their homes more often. I have one in my neighborhood and the owner is there at least once a month.

Keep looking, soon you’ll find the house full of Unicorns and the urine rainbow and all will be better in the city of Dearborn! Open your eyes folks.

Easy to do that damage so quickly–it’s called more than 20 cats that aren’t cared for. 20 cats make a lot of excrement in a month’s time. Word on the news last night was that they may have lived one block over prior to moving into this home. Sounds like it was an eviction that caused them to move (Surprise, surprise).

  4. Baxter says:

Perhaps Welcome home Dearborn was targeted at chihuahas and cats

  5. rami says:

When is the City going to check on these rentals, that are nothing but cat houses.

    Way to go Baxter!

    Shady & Baxter…hilarious…

    Rami–
The city checks on alot of rentals, problem is they would rather inspect the same house 5 times in a year, than 5 houses once a year.
(some inspector’s MO is to keep finding minor violations at the same house & returning). The point of inspections is insuring the quality of life for all residents, renters & owners, not simply searching for more old houses to demolish (& splitting hairs to do so).
Hopefully with the disollution of B & S, things will begin to be done differently.

How about this…..instead of paying our officers top $$$ to do nothing why don’t they invest there time and $$$ on seeing what really has happenend to dearborn in the last 5 years and what kind of people are strating to move into the city.
It’s a shame that this city is becoming more and more corrupted.
