Dearborn Hills Hosts Master Plan Workshop Aug. 17
Dearborn’s Master Plan workshops for residents continues Wednesday at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course.
Residents are invited to guide the future development of the city through participating in these public workshops. The survey process was completed Aug. 1 and interested residents may participate in these special workshops.
Wednesday’s meeting is the third in a series and begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. This workshop is focused on neighborhoods in the northwest part of the city.
Input will be used in the creation of Dearborn’s new master plan, which will be a vision for the future of transportation, land use, the economy and environmental and cultural stewardship.
The master plan will help determine the physical characteristics of the city and facilitate the type of community residents want to see for the long term.
The remaining schedule is as follows:
Summation workshop: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, Club Room One, 15801 Michigan Ave.

Honestly, this is not how a government is supposed to work. This mayor continues to employ more third party contractors and consultants to do jobs his program managers, department directors and Deputy Mayor can’t. If the mayor is so interested in what his citizens think then why not show up somewhere else besides fundraisers. Breakout sessions, brainstorming, and small groups facilitated by a contractor are simply wasting scarce resources. Thank you mayor, but if you really cared about what we think than you would keep the parks, pools, and libraries functioning.

Has anyone been to one of these yet? Is it just a bunch of smoke and mirrors or do they let the people talk?

Whatever happened to his ‘coffee chats’? Guess maybe those didn’t go over to well so those are gone. A couple of years ago we tried to get a Town Meeting going between the mayor and Hakim – Hakim was eager to attend but Jack never liked the idea. All we wanted was a discussion on why there wasn’t any progress being made along MI Ave.
Wonder what is happening with his Convention Center??

The Big Boy (Jack) is essentially a big baby, he likes to start things but rarely keeps interest in anything, the coffee chats are but one example, there are numerous others. As for the Convention Center don’t hold your breath, the blowhard was simply trying to blow smoke during the upcoming election at that time. I’m sure Hakim would like to chat with the Big Boy, but Jack knows he can’t trade wits with Hakim. The Big Boy wants to call all the shots he doesn’t really want any constructivve input, because he feels he knows more than anybody, but he continues to show his ignorance, and besides embarrassing the residents of Dearborn, he continues to cost us a ton of money with all the lawsuits him and his weasel buddy Somers keep getting the City involved in. As far as the Master Plan is involved, you might as well let O’Reilly show up with his yes men, so they can do what he wants, because he simply won’t listen.

Couldn’t agree with u more. Bluto O’Reilly isn’t interested in what the residents think, he simply looks down to them, because he feels he is Mr. Noitall, when in actuality he is nothing but an embarrassment to all of us.
