District Judge Somers to Make Run for Circuit Court

The Dearborn Press & Guide is reporting that 19th District Court Judge Mark Somers has pulled petitions to run for Wayne County’s Third Circuit Court.
Somers, who has served as one of Dearborn’s three district court judges since 2002, told the paper that he reached the decision over the holidays after speaking with his family.
“With three judges retiring, I don’t know that there will be another opportunity like this in my life,” the paper quotes Somers.
Somers must collect 4,200 signatures by May 1 to appear on the November ballot. He said he plans to start collecting signatures immediately.

Sommers may as well head over to the county courts to bancrupt Wayne county. Maybe McMayor will run for his spot in the District court and we’ll have an opening for mayor!!!

At least he won’t be on the bench in Dearborn! I know I wouldn’t vote for him for Wayne County. Nice how he just bails out after all he’s cost the City, hopefully Wayne County voters do their homework.

Pleeeeze! Is anyone offended that this “man” cost Dearborn more than 2 million dollars in taxpayers money and now wants to move on? What an insult to each and every voter in this city. I bet the Mayor is proud of the judge HE supported 100 percent. O’Reilly and Somers only care about themselves and their personal agendas. HUBRIS is the word for the day!

Somers knows its over for him in Dearborn, so you are right now he can do the manly thing, and thats to simply leave town. Mr. Happy-meal O’Reilly can’t save his boys ass, because he has cost the City so much cash thusfar, and there is more money that’s going to be due in the Spring, so bail out on the chump (Somers), because after all we know how loyal O’Reilly is, and let Ficano (another misfit) deal with Somers. Anyway for the residents part, good-bye and good riddance. Let me let Sommers in on a little secret — you have absolutely no prayer in Circuit Court.

Deanne you are absolutely right! Voters do their homework and know this is the same religious zealot that jailed Terry Jones for doing the same thing he does – – preach his Christian views to change the world in their own eyes. Instead of Wayne County, go back to India.

Somers will get writers cramp filing complaints against twenty some judges. Maybe he can hear all of his medical marijuana appeals that are in Wayne County now. Maybe his buddies Ficano and the Elders will support him again. I have a feeling they will all have time on their hands shortly. Karmas a bitch!

Let’s see. Violate constitutional rights, discriminate, get overturned on appeal, cost the taxpayers millions. Next logical step is to run for Wayne County office? It will be interesting to see who signs those petitions, who endorses Sumers and who donates to his campaign.

So after knocking on every door in Dearborn and arguing for his job, after begging for endorsements and bending everyone’s ear ad nauseum in defense of these lawsuits, after accepting thousands of dollars in donations for his campaign, Sommers decides he just doesn’t want the job after all and goes after another job halfway through his term. Certainly the guy sees the writing on the wall, he’s broke and desperate. Who else is going to hire him?
Hopefully the voters of Wayne County aren’t that desperate. They certainly aren’t stupid. Fool us once, shame on you, fool us twice Mark Sommers…shame, shame, shame.
I just can’t wait for him to show up again on my doorstep.
Better bring his checkbook.

Here’s hoping the Elders will distance themselves from their boy. They’ve got enough trouble don’t they already?
Instead of raising most of Sommers campaign funds like they did last time, the family probably should fund their own defense fund?

This is the height of arrogance! This judge has negatively impacted so many lives with his bias rulings and personal feelings. He does not deserve the honor of a black robe. Is his family as delusional as he is? I wonder if he’ll have his wife change her name and religion again for his benefit??

Go to Texas and move in with Kwame. I heard he has enough bedrooms and your roses will grow year round. On the other hand, go to Florida and join Terry Jones. After he sues your ass he’ll help you pay your judgements. You two have a lot in common, a message NOONE wants to hear. I understannd u have approached some of local arab-american leaders to question them about support for Circuit Court. To be succint hit the bricks, u have lost all credibility in our community, and the only support u will get from us, is to simply bend over, for a swift kick in the ass.

Wonder if the Elders have any regrets supporting Somers after he unjustly forced Pucci out now that the same thing happened to him? Looks like Judge Elder is closer to her dream of “sharing the same bench with Mark Somers.”
Be careful what you wish for! If you don’t meet his standards he will file a grievance against you too. The best way to predict future behavior is to look at past behavior. If you are proud of how he treated employees, support him again! Watch your back!

How can the Elders support a judge who has discriminated against Arab Americans? Guess because it wasn’t them! Isn’t integrity more important then loyalty? Guess not! Ficano and Somers can get in a small boat to China.
Pretty ironic that Somers sits on the ADC committee (anti discrimination). What a joke! Another BS committee that has no standards or oversight.

Current EEOC complaint from a female arab american employee for harassment and retaliation. Word is his insurance company is trying to settle this one quickly before “the community” finds out. He is a self righteous and self serving SOB.
