this thing has to have been roaming around since early October. I live on a street near the intersection of Cherry Hill & Outer Drive and on an early morning (3am) smoke break in my backyard, I heard something huge growl and attack another animal nearby. Everyone in my family was convinced it was a raccoon, but it sounded bigger and way more fierce than any raccoon I have heard.

I know someone who owns a home on Waverly that I believe is on the east side of Telegraph a few blocks south of Cherry Hill. She has a back yard that faces Telegraph. Last week she let her dog out in the backyard and kept calling it to come in. When it didn’t come and she heard her dog growling, she went out in her backyard and in the “forested” area of her yard near Telegraph she stared down what she thought was a cougar or wolf type animal. It scared the daylights out of her and she slowly grabbed her dog and backed away and went into the house. I don’t know how true it is, but many people have told me that these type of wild animals usually roam the forested areas on the Rouge and around it and can roam for miles and miles looking for small prey. So be careful if you live in these areas and don’t let your pets out late at night, which is when most people are spotting this wild animal or animals.
