Free Comic Book Day Comes to Dearborn May 2

When was the last time you picked up and read a comic book? Well, on May 2nd you can get reacquainted with your favorite comic book for free.
It is all part of Free Comic Book Day, when more than 2 million comic books will be given away by participating stores, as a way to introduce as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books.
Dearborn’s Green Brain Comics on Michigan Avenue will be one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 2nd.
“The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages — children, teens and adults — can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations,” said Dan Merritt, co-owner of Green Brain Comics.
Now in its eighth year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a big success, spreading the word, Merritt says, that comics can be good reading.
“We at Green Brain Comics want to spread the word that comics are perfect for today’s times,” Merritt said. “Comic books and graphic novels are considered hip, hot and smart.”
Comic Books have propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. Wolverine hits the big screen on May 1st, the day before Free Comic Book Day. So the first weekend of May is going to be a big day in the comic book world.
Regular updates, information about comic books, and a list of participating publishers and their free comics are all online at www.FreeComicBookDay.com

Free Comic Book Day kicks off at 10 am on May 2nd and runs until 8 pm at Green Brain Comics, 13210 Michigan Ave. For more information call 313-582-9444 for more information.

If you like comic book stories, for quite some time there has been someone blogging on this site and another that goes by a 2 letter acronym that is a brilliant and well researched writer. He usually comes up with some great reading material and food for thought. But some of his writings show either a warped slant or extreme prejudice towards some ethnic groups. Since there are other writers on these blogs that do reveal their true names, it is time to reveal this writer. See if you can figure it out from the blogs below from another web site.

I was attempting a little sarcasm but I think it slipped past some people on here. I think it’s obvious they come from different ends of the spectrum, but they both get the pot stirring nicely.

Hmm, let’s see, worked at FoMoCo as a metal model maker and was laid off, 40ish, a VFW #2017 Post member, is banned from a certain bar in downtown west, family had a trucking business they closed, has not had a drivers license of car in some time, has a very volitale temper.
This is our should we say Alex/Hector aka Mr. Be All, End All, Know It All who acts so superior to everyone on both blogs, when in fact he is the complete opposite in person, in that he’s a person who is totally out of control. Put him in a locked room with a computer and he’s brilliant. Put him out in public and he’s a danger even to himself.

Closet geniuses who are loudmouths who also batter and degrade people in print and in person give themselves away sooner or later.
Hmm, now let’s see how long before this is removed, but it will be at sometime placed on another site as well, which will not remove it.
Hector, Alex didn’t think he’d be found out, yet now even his last name is soon to go public on all the Dearborn blogs, even if this one deletes it again.

Yes, I love comic books and still read them every chance I get. Glad to see the comic book business is still alive. Now for more comical information, look at what I just found on another Dearborn web site. I guess the gig is up LX, isn’t it?
LX Further Exposes Himself said…
One thing I love about Dearborn is the fact that everyone writes about it with such passion, especially one writer that calls himself LX. I also love the fact that writers like LX when exposed are found to not be the kind of people they lead us to believe they are.
LX claims he owns a house in Dearborn and that he pays property taxes on that home. Hes also reamed out others who have opinions telling them their opinions don’t mean squat unless they are a Dearborn homeowner and property tax payer. Hmm, could this also be this fellow below? Notice the words very carefully he wrote below on the article about the Mayor being Amish for a day.

Trust me it doesn’t take guts at all. Because I use my name doesn’t mean I have the right to ask anyone else to use theirs. But, its worth a try – who are you LX???????

A tax paying U.S. citizen who happens to reside in Dearborn, which may become subject to change if Dearborn continues to follow a path of what I consider less than mainstream America views in its school district operations and with its elected Officials.
I hope that provides some clarification for you.

Yes LX, this provides us with plenty of clarification. Thank you so much for now informing us that you’re not a homeowner and that you do not pay property taxes to the city. Wow, what’s next? You’d be even more surprised at what’s coming soon.
