A Video Review of Dearborn in 2008

At Dearborn Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr.’s State of the City earlier this month, a video compilation of the highlights from the city in 2008 were played for the audience. As many may not have had a chance to view it yet, we thought it would be a good idea to post it here.

The entire video runs about 11 minutes and on a chilly day like today it’s a good way to spend some time. The video is nicely done and really captures a great deal of what took place in Dearborn in 2008 . . . and that’s a lot. Kudos to the CDTV team that produced this video!  A lot of hard work went into it and it shows.

Way too long for this type of propaganda. Tell us about the disappearance of all the businesses in East and West Dearborn, and what is going to be done, on the City’s behalf.

allen: so let me try and understand you want to see stories about businesses closing because you get pleasure out of it or something? yes, the video is long but at least it shows hope for Dearborn, some positive news for a change. go watch local TV news to get your fill of “bad” news.

All I have to do is simply drive the streets of Dearborn, to see all the abortions taking place. I don’t want to hear the negativity, however,I would like to hear and see things we are trying to do to get new things, or business’ into our town.

I certainly am well aware that our city is facing many issues it has never faced before. I am also aware that perhaps the city isn’t addressing many of these issues in the style and urgency that we have grown accustomed to over the years.

Nonetheless, during these trying times nationwide and in our city, this video made me realize that there are many additional wonderful things our city still does for us and has to offer us that some simply take for granted.

Jack it seems is full of hot air, and if he thinks this type of propaganda is going to do it for us — guess again. Do something, and then tell us about it. You have been a disappointment thusfar.
