Future Developer for Vacant West Dearborn Land?

After five years sitting vacant, the Quality Inn Motel on Michigan Avenue and Brady is finally gone.

With the Quality Inn at the corner of Michigan and Brady now gone, what does the future hold for this prime piece of real estate in West Dearborn?

But now what is going to happen to this prime piece of vacant real estate in the heart of West Dearborn?

With a clean slate, the Dearborn Historical Museum has the opportunity to rethink the future of persevering the city’s past and bring some new development to this very busy intersection.

Kirt Gross, chief curator for the Dearborn Historical Museum, will host a presentation on the history of the museum site and the museum’s plans and goals for future development on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:30 p.m.

This is one worth attending if you can.

It’s really a lovely historic building, visible as it is now from Michigan Avenue. Used to be, if you weren’t driving up Brady for some reason, you wouldn’t even know it was there. I’ll be sad to see the view obscured again by whatever “development” comes next.

Whatever happens here, good luck. But let it not be a taxpayer supported event.

How about side-by-side, empty, GIANT PARKING STRUCTURES? Or the Headquarters for PARK-RITE? Or the MOTOR-LOT for the Parking Ordinance Officers? Maybe Newman could build a strip mall? Or Hakim could be the preferred developer w/BK? Wouldn’t need an insurance bond w/those two on board. Welcome to the new Dearborn,…….much better than the old one. Great job!!!! Thanks!!!

I would love to see something historical/Greenfield Village, Henry Ford, or Historical Museum related go on this corner. But I would not want to see that lovely area where the museum sits now end up something other than what it is.

Could we have history at both sites please?

I hate to even ask, so as not to jinx it and it end up some cheesybar or restaurant.

Anything with American History would be perfect.

McDonald’s has a lot of American History. That could fit there.

    (just kidding of course)

I realize The Henry Ford would prefer to have its stores located on its own property, but how about a Greenfield Village store on the site?
