the event took profits from tenants that have to pay taxes, make rent, and make payroll. The chamber and the mayor need to go back and kiss babies and let the bussnesses work on events that draw. Support dearborn only not detroit vendors.

Hakim, get over yourself. We purchased food from a vendor then bought drinks at the Moose. Is that acceptable? The whole patio was packed with people, way more than are usually there, buying drinks and going to other, DEARBORN businesses, early on a Friday evening.

Hakim – first of all, what tenants? The folks at Michigan and Monroe? I can go on, but this is like t-ball or a piƱata – imho your continued failures – vacant, deteriorating properties that are your responsibility – are the single largest drag on the ability of west end tenants to pay taxes, rent and payroll.

A real golden touch you got there.

The real evidence is simple – many tenants leaving your properties, and then they stand empty. Instead of your incessant blaming of others (again, see above) why don’t you do something successful as the preferred developer.

Hmm, racking my brain to remember the last time you did anything to attract business, let alone a positive buzz. Instead of coming across as a whiner, take a page from Rick Snyder – “relentless positive action.”

    Now that would be refreshing.

I ENJOYED THE FOOD TRUCKS, BUT DECIDED TO EAT AT PIZZA POULOLUS. I WOULD’T HAVE GONE OUT TO EAT THAT DAY AT ALL. SOOO, THE EVENT DREW ME DOWNTOWN TO EAT FROM A TENNANT. I AM SURE OTHERS MAY HAVE DONE THE SAME. ANYTHING TO DRAW PEOPLE DOWNTOWN IS GOOD. p.s. THE METER GUYS TOOK A BREAK THAT NIGHT. HOW DO I KNOW, I ASKED THE PL ATTENDANT.

  5. Hakim Fakhoury says:

The chamber and the city officals should stop spending time posting on this blog and start work with owners. Jack of all trades ( the Mayor ) also should go kiss babies and stop trying to do everything. He has no time so everything is on hold forever. Jack when are you going to get back to me on all the proposals Ive submitted?

  6. tdogg says:

You should schedule and publicize an open meeting behind one of your properties, and speak to any and all about the proposals you’ve submitted, the administration’s reaction, and also benefit from some feedback from the community.

I think a lot of folks would show up to listen with great interest to your vision and how it would be developed.

Also, would probably be good for the neighboring businesses – the afterglow.
What do you say, Hakim? Tell us the date, time and location.

  7. Lifetime Resident says:

Um, was that a joke? He go can just go to business to business and ask current tenants what can be done.

  8. bitsy08 says:

Work with the owners????? Like you worked with me today, Hakim? When I came to you with a problem you told me to “get the fu – – out of my gas station, you fu – – – – – fat-assed bitch. May the God of all that is just give you exactly what you deserve!

  9. bitsy08 says:

Just to keep everything straight, I posted a comment earlier about Fakhoury swearing at me and telling me to get out of his station (to put it nicely). I’ve since found out it was his son. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, huh?
