Vandals Shoot Out Glass in Dozens of Parked Vehicles
The car glass in dozens of vehicles parked in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Inkster were shot out by a group of Dearborn Heights teens wielding BB guns Friday night, according to several readers of DeepsaidWhat.com and the owner of a nearby auto glass repair shop who contacted us.
It isn’t clear how many of the damaged vehicles were in Dearborn but the men responsible for the damage have been arrested.
We will share more details as they become available. The auto glass repair shop we spoke to says police from Dearborn Heights and Dearborn stopped in his shop on Saturday alerting him to be prepared for a very busy day of glass repairs on Monday.

Nixle notified residents of problems around Cherry Hill and Telegraph. Please, for your own protection, park in the garage or far into the driveway. Keep off the streets so these derelicts will go elsewhere to get their kicks. I hope the courts make them pay every penny to the insurance or individuals. It is no fun to come out in the morning to a vandalized vehicle. And, as usual, call the cops if something doesn’t seem right. Good neighbors watch out for each other….

The vandalism goes hand and hand with protecting your valuables. We have experienced thefts in various areas of Dearborn from parked vehicles when owners have left valuables visible inside of their vehicles, and sometimes owners do not lock their doors. GPS systems, radar detectors and other valuables should be stored out of view. Often these visible valuables are stolen by the thief smashing out a vehicle window to gain entry. If you have a GPS device, also remove the mounting bracket because the thief knows that if you have a mounting bracket, you surely have the device somewhere in your vehicle, probably your center console of glove box. Also, some thieves take your GPS while you are parked in a lot somewhere, and they check it to find your “home” location on the device. The thief will telephone another thief, or else or they will make a visit to your unoccupied home knowing that you will not be there if you are parked in a lot shopping at another location.
Protect your valuables and report any suspicious activity to police. It is better to report what you consider suspicious activity, and find that everything checks out by the police, instead of not reporting the incident and finding out later that your suspicions were correct.
