Dearborn Calendar Advertising Deadline Sept. 27
If you are considering advertising in the 2011 City of Dearborn calendar you have until Sept. 27 to reserve space in it.
The calendar reaches 36,000 households through a direct mailing that takes place in December.
For $500, businesses and organizations have the opportunity to advertise in the city’s official calendar and help support the costs of producing it.
The ads will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Just one ad per month will be sold. Design services are available for an additional fee. Some restrictions apply.
If you need more information contact Debbie Lamita in the City of Dearborn’s Department of Public Information at 313-943-2285.

ok. so $500 for 12 months. that equals $6,000. not bad but hardly makes a dent in a book that costs probably more than $40,000 to design, print and mail. in these hard times this might be one luxury that probably has to temporarily be cut. maybe their could be a savings by transferring the entire calendar content to online until the economy improves?

As far as I’m concerned they can save money and not send me one, I just throw it away. There is not enough room to write events. In fact I don’t know anyone who uses it.

I happen to like it. Keeps me up to date on things in the city.
Understand if the city has to save money but it is a great thing to have. I love having it.

they really should just have them for pick up and print less of them. that way, if you want one, fine, if not, it’s a waste

Webster — Far too many people in our community do not have the internet … as much as I see your point, this information needs to be accessible to everyone.

Something we as residents can do without. Maybe with its elimination we could add another cop or fireman, think about big fella, we don’t need this p.r. b.s. at this time, and while your at it, think about doing away with that p.r. dept. or do u need that to make u look good? I have an idea work out in the City so people can see u, that would be your best p.r.
