Dearborn High Students Kick Off ‘Shop Dearborn’

Shop DearbornHere is a great new way to support Dearborn businesses.

A new marketing initiative created by a local economics team and students from Dearborn High School could help jump start the Dearborn economy now with the holiday season in full swing.

The new “Shop Dearborn” campaign is the brainchild of Dearborn High School’s Intro to Marketing class. The program is simple: purchase a “Shop Dearborn” card for $25 and then enjoy discounts at more than 200 local participating businesses. Discounts are recurring and the card is active for one year.

The key-chain card, available to both Dearborn residents and non-residents, can be purchased at the school or by clicking HERE.  Participating businesses can also be found at this site. Those businesses who want to participate in this program can do so for free and proceeds will help benefit the Dearborn Education Foundation and ultimately Dearborn Schools.

WDIV Channel 4 did a story after our post here.  The Channel 4 story can be viewed by clicking  Shop Dearborn

    Brilliant !

  3. RJR says:

Great idea. Makes you wonder again what the Dearborn Chamber is doing for Dearborn business when high school students can dream up an idea and deliver. Joe, scroll down to the bottom of the Shop Dearborn site and click the link that shows each store and what they are offering.

  4. Alley Cat says:

This is great. I looked at the stores that are included and I shop at many of them. I hope more businesses in Dearborn jump on board! This would be a great holiday gift as well.

This plan got some great publicity on Channel 7 tonight. I am really impressed with these kids for coming up with this idea! I think my family will decide to purchase one of these cards. I agree with RJR wholeheartedly–what are Ms. Giering and the Chamber actually doing to help our businesses?

DHS football team had a similar card available this fall. Pay 25.00 and you get discounts at about 20 businesses. I bought one because next year I will have a child there and I always support our schools. It’s been only 4 months and I’ve already got my money out of it! Great Job!!
