Let’s Talk Dearborn . . .

Well, we have finally switched to a new platform and a new server. It took a bit longer than we would have liked to move and we still are in the process of carrying over three years of stories, along with photos and video.

We made a host of improvements, the majority on making the site operate more reliably and viewable from multiple types of Internet browsers.

You’ll also notice on the right rail of the page that we have added a community calendar that we have simply titled “Upcoming Events”. Simply click on the event and the pertinent information will appear. So if you have an upcoming event we’ll post it here free of charge for you. Please send along the information to our email address at the top right of the page and we will be happy to add it to the Upcoming Events section.

More visible improvements to the site will be forthcoming. As always, DeepSaidWhat.com welcomes your views and encourages lively – but civil – discussions about Dearborn. Comments are unedited, but submissions reported as abusive or unrelated to a posted story may be removed.

Thanks for reading.

Looks good and I like the idea of having the calendar on the side for posting events. There seem to be some that you never hear about at all. Hope people can stick to “encourages lively — but civil — discussions. We all disagree at times but to make a case out of it doesn’t get any of us anywhere.

  3. Dave Bowman says:

Wow, I like the new format much better. Being able to see the timing of comments is a big improvement. Keep up the good work.

  4. Michael D. Albano says:

I also really think the new format is wonderful, but I wish more of the past writers would again write more regularly as they did before the format changed.

  5. LX says:

Well Michael, one relly can’t have that with censorship now can they.

  6. Michael D. Albano says:

Either way LX, I’m glad to see that you’re back as you tend to keep the pot stirring. Welcome back.

Let me also add that there are times Deep has removed some of my comments as well but I just don’t let it bother me. I figure it’s his site, he’s doing this as a service free to all of us, so I figure it’s his option to delete articles that he feels don’t meet his requirements.

With that being said, even though we disagree at times on some issues LX, you are probably one of the, if not the best writer on here. So don’t let that discourage you. I am also sure you’re smart enough to know how to tweak some of your writings so that they are approved. The main point should be to not worry about being deleted but how to get whatever message one wants out there. That’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth.

  8. LX says:

    Thanks Michael.

I’ll consider the suggestion too, but I really don’t see the need for compromise with what I write. The whole premise is honesty of what is happening in Dearborn without excuse or crutch for anyone. Some are just not able to see that far and that’s fine with me. The world is a big place, so if it get’s removed so be it.

  9. Michael D. Albano says:

    LX,

I’ve always considered myself a better than average writer, but you’re a far better a writer than I am. You dig deep for information and then provide information most of us cannot find.

IMHO, it’s not compromise that you have to deal with here. It’s simply rewording some comments that perhaps don’t fit what Deep’s requirements are, simply saying the same thing with perhaps just different words, phrasing or rephrasing in some areas. I don’t know who you are or what your IQ is LX, but I’d bet it is way above average and know you’re smart enough to know what I’m saying here and doing this will still get your points across well. Because no one gets their points across better on this site than you in most cases. So again, that’s 2 more cents of my thoughts.

I look forward to see your writings again LX…

I’d say it comes down to letting the facts speak for themselves. LX is good at that when he wants to be. Of course facts can be included or excluded in a manner that buttresses one’s agenda. That’s the mark of a good debater. I’d wager that posts have been removed for other reasons than a simple presentation of facts. Just my two cents, though!

  11. LX says:

Then again, there really is nothing stopping anyone from presenting facts disputing otherwise is there?

Censorship is a crutch and a slippery slope for everyone.

Now with it being Michael’s 4 cents, Dave’s 2 cents and now mine, I’d say that makes for a lot of sense on the table doesn’t it.
